Another Day in Paradise

So we made it on the train today after yesterday's attempt. Pretty incredible views even though the train had to stop 1000 ft shy of the summit due to snow and winds. Jackson did great and everyone around us seemed to enjoy the free entertainment.

Brrr!!!

So the day started with a grand plan to ride the choo-choo train up to the top of Pike's Peak. We threw down a quick bite of breakfast and beat feet for the 9:20 train. The temperature in the 4Runner said 9... not 49, 39, 29, or even 19. Just 9 degrees, and that was before the 7000 foot climb. Winds at the summit were something like 40 miles an hour. Just before it was time to board, Jackson said he wasn't feeling well. That was all the excuse we needed. Instead we went over to the Cave of the Winds where at least its in the 50s underground.

Let's save the Cog Railway for Sunday.

Jackson is enjoying his big truck Matchbox hauler. We still occaisionally have to remind him it's not a ride on toy, but he is having a blast with it.

Price Check on Aisle Nine!!!

Jackson decided to try some reverse retail therapy, lining up on the checker side of the transaction with his new cash register. As he soon discovered, everything has a price (or at least beeps if you wave the hand scanner over it, including the dogs!).
