Jackson absolutely loves playing with his new train set.  He wants to run them from the time he wakes up until it is time to go to sleep.  Thank you so much, he really loves them!

Another Day in Paradise

On the Train

So we made it on the train today after yesterday's attempt. Pretty incredible views even though the train had to stop 1000 ft shy of the summit due to snow and winds. Jackson did great and everyone around us seemed to enjoy the free entertainment.

Brrr!!!

So the day started with a grand plan to ride the choo-choo train up to the top of Pike's Peak. We threw down a quick bite of breakfast and beat feet for the 9:20 train. The temperature in the 4Runner said 9... not 49, 39, 29, or even 19. Just 9 degrees, and that was before the 7000 foot climb. Winds at the summit were something like 40 miles an hour. Just before it was time to board, Jackson said he wasn't feeling well. That was all the excuse we needed. Instead we went over to the Cave of the Winds where at least its in the 50s underground.

Let's save the Cog Railway for Sunday.
